Water Treatment Plant

The Princeton Water Treatment Plant is located at 1220 N Old Hwy 41.

It has a capacity to treat 3 million gallons of water per day. Currently the plant treats about 1.2 million gallons daily. Treatment includes disinfecting using chlorine gas and adding hydroflusilic acid (HFA) to prevent dental cavities. Before being treated the water is aerated to remove most of the elemental iron and stored at the plant in a 500,000 gallon above ground storage tank. There is also below ground storage for about 90,000 gallons. Water to be treated comes from a well field located on County Road 350 West. There are currently seven wells used to access the aquifer.
