Permits Required:

Any Construction, Demolition, and Signs in the City of Princeton and within a two mile radius of the City Limits

Zoning Map

Residential Fees:

Storage Buildings & Carports $10.00
Unattached Garage $10.00 + .05 cents per Sq. Ft.
Houses  $50.00 + .05 cents per Sq. Ft. of living space

Setbacks are according to Zoning Ordinances 

Copy of Site Plans must accompany Building Permit Application 

Commercial Fees:      

$100.00 plus .05 cents per Sq. Ft. Maximum Fee is $1000.00
Each Permit must have a Commercial Building Permit issued by the City accompanied by a State Construction Design release issued by the State plus a Site Plan.

Signs:

  • To install a sign you must have a Sign Permit
  • Fees are according to Size
  • Must meet setbacks according to City Ordinances

Demolition Permits:

Required for all buildings, house, garages, etc.. Demolition Permit Application

The members of our department respond to all types of emergencies. Our firefighters are eager to provide professional, courteous and effective service.

Each 911 call is handled with three priorities:

  1. Life Safety 
  2. Property Conservation 
  3. Incident Stabilization 

Many emergency situations require immediate action. Our department also will assist you in preparation for your immediate actions in the event of tragedy. Our goal is to provide useful information to you. That information will help you feel secure knowing what your immediate actions are in every type of emergency. 

The goal of Mayor Wright and our department is to provide a safe community for families and businesses to grow and flourish.  Whether you are a citizen or visitor, you can count on the Princeton Fire Department to fulfill your needs for emergency response.

The Princeton Police Department is made up of 17 sworn officers, 4 reserve officers, and 1 civilian officer. The Department serves the city in a 6 square mile radius and a population of approximately 8,600 citizens.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Princeton Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in Princeton by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, reduce fear, and maintain order. The Department is committed to accomplishing its mission to protect the lives and property of all citizens of Princeton by treating every citizen with courtesy, professionalism, and respect and to enforce the laws impartially, fighting crime both through deterrence and the relentless pursuit of criminals.

The Princeton Police Department offers child car seat inspections by appointment.

Utilities

The Utilities Department provides Street, Sanitation, Water Treatment, and Wastewater services to the City of Princeton.

  • Street Department  is responsible for limb pick up, snow removal, and various other street related duties.
  • Trash Removal is weekly trash removal service.
  • Water Treatment Plant is located at 1220 N old Hwy 41 and has a capacity to treat 3 million gallons of water per day.
  • Wastewater Utilities purpose is to prevent the introduction of pollutants into the publicly owned treatment works that will interfere with its operation.
